For centuries the Meschermolen has milled calamine and grain. In 1699 ( with a major restoration) the mill was moved from the north to south wing. The present appearance of the Meschermolen dates from that period.
The status of its inhabitants is covered by another derives from the presence Louis XV and Louis XVI fireplaces in the mansion.
Old ponds, signs of past greatness, were converted into pasture and the present buildings are constructed in such dimensions that, in comparison with other village houses, acting as a monument.
The mill is part of the complex, consisting of a mansion, flanked on both sides by a number of economy buildings. So a large courtyard is formed.
The mill was originally located in the north wing and was then under the type of stroke.
Later they moved the mill to the south and became an undershot mill.
Ten kilometres of the south of Maastricht you can find the Meschermolen between the meadows. It’s the first water mill along the river “ de Voer” on dutch territory.
East of the mill you can find the village “Mesch” dating of the Carolingian period

Until 1920, the farm has been continuously owned by the Walloon nobility
After 1920 the Meschermolen is inhabited by gender Lippertz.
In 1999 a second restoration was be completed. Now you can find a cottage and it’s also a wedding location of the municipality Eijsden and a meeting room with accommodation.
The Court of Aachen, known locally as “La Cour d’Aix”. served as law courts until 1745 for Herve.
The farmhouse dating from 1575 bears the oldest stone wall of Richelle in its left wing. ( Called de Pierre Charlemagne stone)
The count van Zuylen, sat on the nearby Castle of Argenteau, counted the Court of Aachen unto his possessions.
The arms of the count family are located in the right-wing.
Respectively for the real historical value, the original complex held a variety of furnished holiday apartments.
