Historie
The farmstead itself is built on the site of a carolingian villa; old ponds, signs of vanished splendour, have been converted into pastures and the present buildings are on such scale that, compared with the other villages-houses, they have a monumental air

The mill is part of a building complex consisting of a manor ( where the family lives) flanked by a number of  farm buildings around a large inner court ( in which the apartments are situated).

In 1699 the millfarm was largely rebuilt, the half-timbered construction being replaced by plain brickwork.
The social status of the inhabitants of that time can de deduced from the presence of Louis XV and Louis XV1 fireplaces in the big manor.

Until 1920 the farmstead had been the property of Walloon nobility, who were very severe towards their tenant farmers. For instance, they had to maintain large fishponds and when the landlord came to inspect the estate by coach, the tenants had to put a pair of horses of similar color and build at their disposal.
Futhermore, besides rent they had to pay amply in kind

The present:
Since 1920 Meschermolen has been inhabited by the Lippertz family, who have been both millers and farmers.
